My father called to place an order and spoke to the guy in Arabic. I went to pick it up and while waiting to be helped, 2 police officers eating the restaurant returned their food because the chicken was not cooked. I then told the guy that I had a pick up and I gave my fathers name. He responded 'no'. Nothing else. Didn't ask me if it could be under a different name, didn't ask what I ordered, didn't ask if I wanted to place an order. He absolutely ignored me. Between that and serving raw chicken to law enforcement I decided to go to Beruit Palace instead. After I arrived home with the food from Beruit Palace, the guy from King of Kabob called my dad and told him the order was ready. My dad explained to him that I tried to pick it up and he told me no and the guy offered no explanation or apology whatsoever! I will never go there again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Went in for dinner-everything smelled and looked so good. We ordered a shawarma and a lamb shank. Oh my! Big portions of everything and great tasting. Will definitely return!

Worse place to go eat. I went there for lunch , the soup had no taste, the salad had no aroma it taste like vinegar, the sandwich was dry and cold , was a terrible place to go for lunch . Do not go there also very dirty

Really good crushed lentil soup. Creamy but not too thick. The falafel is pretty good, too. In the falafel entree, you get a feast! A ton of crunchy falafel, with pickled turnips and sour pickles, tahini. All the goods. Their salads aren't much to write home about. Just your standard iceberg lettuce with some tomato and onion. No special dressing or spices, so you can skip the salad course. It's just a little place in a stripmall, nothing fancy but carryout is always quick. Unfortunately, they don't take credit cards. I never carry cash, like many people I know, so I don't stop here with much frequency. All and all...not a bad stop for a bowl of soup ($2.50) and a falafel sandwich ($3.50?).

Needing a quick bite before heading out for the evening, we felt a Mediterranean sandwich would do us good. So we checked out King of Kabob - calling ahead to place an order. I had never been, so I asked if they had a lamb sandwich, which is pretty common at these Lebanese joints, or so I thought. "No lamb!" she says loudly in the phone, so I settle for beef shawarma and my dining buddy gets a falafel sandwich. I am then offered a choice between ranch dressing and garlic sauce. The ranch option throws me off - is this some kind of overly Americanized Coney Island in disguise? I go for the garlic sauce, hoping it's the whipped deliciousness that I have only seen in the Detroit burbs. She tells me 20 minutes, doesn't give me a total and hangs up. How does it take 20 minutes for a totally off peak time/day to make two sandwiches? Oh well, they better be good. As I unwrap the foil and take a bite, I'm pleasantly surprised. For the price, it's not bad, but I can't recommend this place for a QUICK pick me up.

This is my go-to kabob house in the Royal Oaks area. The hummus is delicious, the kitchen is spotless, and the prices are great. Can't recommend it highly enough for to go food.

We've ordered from there a couple times so far and it's pretty good. I still think Beirut Palace in Royal Oak is much better, but they definitely have good food at King of Kabob. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but they do a good job. We order the platter for 5 people and get 6 meats even though it says 1-4 meats. They let us get more and give us a TON of food and we usually split it between the two of us for dinner one night and lunch the next day. It's $29.99, but we pay an extra $3 for the garlic paste...DELISH. WE put that on everything. The hummus is ok...and the rice is just ok. The meats are the best, especially the kafta and the beef schawarma. You get your money's worth!

I picked up an order of falafel and beef kafta as a treat for a friend & myself. Not much of a treat, everything was over cooked & dry. I won't be back:(
Absolutely revolting. I got the steak kabob with the rice pilaf, and the steak was more like grounded up (almost like meatloaf) meat that had a terrible flavor to it. Most of the middle eastern places that I go to have actual pieces of steak, and this was just nasty. Nasty. Nasty. Nasty. I can't say it enough. The place was clean, and the service was good, but that is not enough to make up for the terrible food. The check came out to $9, and I felt like I wasted my money because after the third bite I threw my meal away.

I'm ready to hang it up, throw in the towel, and raise the white flag. My quest for an amazing falafel is about to come to a disappointing end. Oh, Cedar Market, why did you ever have to leave Royal Oak? It's YOUR falafel that started it all. I'm actually pretty pissed writing this review, because once again, my entire lunch went into the garbage. I ordered lentil soup and a falafel wrap. Based on the other food I saw coming out I thought I was going to be in for a treat, but I was sadly, sadly mistaken. My tipoff should have been when they asked me if I wanted garlic sauce or ranch with my falafel... I looked at the lady and said "no....I want tahini, that's what comes on a falafel." "Garlic sauce or ranch????" she asked again. I said garlic, on the side. I had no intention of eating it. I really love garlic, but there is no place for it on a falafel. Got my lunch back to work and opened the soup first. It had a nice texture, but NO flavor whatsoever. I even tried doctoring it with a little salt, but then it literally just tasted like salt. So.... I said ok, let's skip that and on to the falafel. I opened the tinfoil and FLOP there it all was. Wasn't even wrapped, it was basically folded in half. The falafel "balls" (very loosely using that term) looked like they might have been balls in some former life before someone put them in their hand and squeezed the fuck out of them... I literally gasped out loud, ya'll!! I figured I would give one a taste anyway, but oh no, that didn't help. They were way overcooked on the outside and complete mush on the inside. I don't understand how these kinds of places stay open so long. I must just keep ordering the wrong shit. I don't know. But, I'm hungry and pissed, and after waiting almost a half hour for this crap that I paid for, I figured I would throw the warning out there for other falafel lovers out there. /FalafelFAIL

I couldn't be more disappointed. The worst service. Menu was so small they didn't even have a veggie platter or sampler. So I had to buy everything seperate. I could have gone almost anywhere else for a bigger portion and more choices for what I paid. I didn't even get everything I asked for and on top of all that it took 30 minutes for a carryout that had all cold salads. There was no one else in front of me either. So frustrating.

We really liked this place! They made our order fresh, which took about 15 - 20 minutes, but worth the wait. We got both chicken and beef gyros, both of which were really good and packed with vegetables so very filling if you're on the go. We also got a meat tray, which came with 2 flatbreads, 5 different meats, lots of briyani rice, soup and salad/pickles. Everything was delicious, although the beef tasted a little gamey - I thought it might have been mutton instead of beef but appears to be beef, so expect a different flavor. Overall the food was great and while a bit pricey, a much healthier and yummier than getting fast food. We will definitely go back if we are in the area!

Service: excellent friendly service. Super nice people. Décor: Nice for a little place like this. Food: Beef Shawarma Sandwich was tasty and tender. Beef is seasoned well but cut off a larger rotating beef roast. The sandwich has garlic sauce or ranch, I picked garlic sauce. Also has lettuce, tomato, and pickled cabbage which did lower the temperature of the sandwich but if freshly eaten it is tolerable. Chicken shawarma sandwich was tasty and grilled fresh as well. Same ingredients as above. Chicken cream chop sandwich. I don't recommend this chicken. It is a refried chicken chop that is dry and over done and chewy. This thin thicken can easily be hand dipped and freshly made at anytime with out having to refry an older piece. Lentil soup is decent and hot. Overall I may try it again. It does have a very good deal with a sandwich, fries and a drink for $4.99. I might try the falafel and the fattoush salad next time. If it wasn't so close to home I probably wouldn't go out of my way.
